How IPL Works
During treatment, light emitted by the IPL device is absorbed by vascular (related to blood vessels) and pigmented lesions in the skin, which are gently heated and destroyed. For some patients, these skin blemishes actually may appear slightly more noticeable for a few days after treatment before they begin to fade. The light energy also triggers the skin to produce more collagen, renewing itself from within.
